Yeah I think Going Going Gone is my favorite at this point.
Haven't heard anything other than VBS yet but I really dig that song.
i just love the guitar crunch--whatever--at 3:05.

I've got it on my best if the year(so far) playlist and I always get a jolt when it comes on.

This album is really nice. I agree that GGG is a stand out track.

I feel like I’m experiencing a Mandela effect here with Lucy confirming her and Julien Baker are a couple… I felt like this was widely known when the latest boygenius album released? It’s like the least important thing in the world, but still

I didn’t knew that no. Still don’t care much.
I’m also not in the mood for Lucy’s music. I barely listened to the first two songs and found them boring.

This new record is really growing on me. Which is not to say I didn't love it from first listen, just that it wasn't blowing my mind the way that her previous record did. But everything is starting to click.
Fuckin' Ankles, amirite?

Ankles has been getting a lot of play on 'EHM, have not listened to the new record yet though.

Saw Lucy last night at Radio City. The show was incredible. jasmine.4.t was the first opener. Never heard her stuff before, and I enjoyed it.
Katie Gavin (of MUNA) was the second act. She was absolutely brilliant. Her solo album that came out last fall is outstanding. The song "Inconsolable" is one of the best of 2024. Just crushing.
Lucy came on about 9:25 and played until 11. She (and the crowd) restored my faith in Radio City as a venue. The performance was perfection. Of course, it was emotional for me. I cried a lot. But the visuals were so wonderful, too. Subtle and effective. Hozier came out and sang "Bullseye" with her. That was special. The crowd went ballistic! It was a lot of fun.
Highly recommend going to see her on this tour if you get the chance.

She did not play Partner In Crime, no. She didn't play VBS either, which was the one I was really hoping for.
The set was mostly the new record. All of the songs from the new one take on new life live, and I really appreciated the whole flow. Older songs were woven in so seamlessly. Here's the set:
Hot & Heavy
Ankles
Modigliani
Limerence
Big Deal
First Time
Triple Dog Dare
Talk
Come Out
Best Guess
For Keeps (Acoustic)
I Don't Wanna Be Funny Anymore (Acoustic)
Please Stay (Acoustic)
Bullseye (with Hozier)
Most Wanted Man
Lost Time
Forever Is a Feeling
Encore:
True Blue (boygenius song)
Night Shift
Night Shift as a closer was fucking epic! She brought the entire building down. It was so raw and loud and passionate and the entire Hall was singing along. It was everything you want a concert to be.

oh yeah Night Shift as a closer makes sense.
Very cool that the new songs sound more intense live, as i kinda thought the production of the album was bland and safe. But like i said, i only listened to it once and i need to go back.

Yeah, it really opens up the more time you spend with it. I was a little lukewarm on it after first listen, too. But once I put on headphones and paid attention to the lyrics, it opened up for me. And now, after seeing them live, the songs really hit.

Having said that, I still think the songs she played from Home Video were big highlights. I love that record and those songs still resonate.
