i’m not. i’m normal. and i don’t know anyone who thinks it’s ‘mate’. we are a little more advanced down here in tasmania despite our dodgy gene pool.

it’s literally in the script that it’s ‘mine’ and doesn’t even sound like ‘mate’. there is no debate. grow up.

Lives opened and trashed...
Look ma, watch me crash...
No time to question...
why'd nothing last..

Have a drink they're buying,
Bottom of bottle of denial,
Big guy, big eye, watching me,
Have to wonder what it sees,
Progress laced with ramifications,
Freedom's big plunge

I always thought it was “freedom’s big PUNCH” lol
“Plunge” is better. Thanks for clearing that up.

I’ve never looked at the lyrics before. Always thought he was saying “bottoms up, bottoms up”

“Once divided nothing left to subtract
Some words when spoken can't be taken back”

Fairly simple but works so well to set up the rest of the song.

Just about every song from Vitalogy feels like an acceptable answer in this thread.

restless soul, enjoy your youth is an excellent opening lyric, though I'm not a fan of the line that follows.

Jeremy's opening lyrics are quite evocative
