Boring and captivating is a good way to describe it.Strat wrote:I remember watching the Original as a young teenager. I watched it maybe 10 years after that and felt bored out of my mind.
Perhaps i should watch it again.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. Yeah, I admit to having a hangup about hunky A-listers taking me out of the sci-fi headspace. But maybe this casting will turn out to be spot-on.Orpheus wrote:Paul is essentially a male witch so Chalamet and his vibe are perfect.

The entire arc of the main narrative that runs through Dune and its sequels is pretty stunning in its scope. The latter books tend to be a bit repetitive but it's thrilling to see the narrative adequately brought to an end.dimejinky99 wrote:I’m really enjoying the book. It’s so dense and over complicates itself to start off with but then that eases off as you get into it. I am only about 200 pages on though.
But really enjoying it so far.
