Jurassic Park. The first one might be my favourite movie ever and the others are shit.

Yeah, shouldn't this thread be for movies that were so bad to begin with you can't see why they'd ever want to make another?

The Fast and Furious movies make a bit of an interesting case study on a series of movies that have gone full circle from a sequel being justifiable to absolutely not, then, somehow, justifiable again.

Fast and furious (good enough in a completely brainless way and successful enough to warrant a sequel)
2 Fast 2 Furious (hmmmm, the turd is starting to show through the polish... I'm not sure we need another one)
FF3: Tokyo Drift (oh god no, who the hell wants a sequel after Tokyo Drift?)
FF4 (huh, stupid, but I guess successful enough to make another one)
FF5 (ok, yes we need another one, if only to see how far beyond the stupid barrier we can push this thing)
FF6 (More Statham? 50km long runways.... sure, why the fuck not? We definitely need one more serve after this)

No! The title doesn't specify that at all, just movies that should never have had a sequel -- either for that reason, or because they totally messed the sequels up and destroyed the legacy of the original film

This is exactly what I meant. Many of the sequels mentioned in this thread are hideous, but I can see why they were attempted. This, though.....who the fuck saw the first one and thought, "I would be keen on seeing what happens next to these characters"?

Such a retroactive "Yeah, THIS is what I meant, actually" doesn't count. I read the thread title and answered.

Incidentally, I learned the other day that I think, in the US, you pronounce 'twat' as 'twot', whereas here, it rhymes with 'that'.

Scumbag Syfy

•SHARKNADO, 1.37 MILLION VIEWERS CONSIDERED VERY SUCCESSFUL

•WAREHOUSE 13, ON AVERAGE 2 MILLION EUREKA, ON AVERAGE 2.5 MILLION ALPHAS, ON AVERAGE 1.5 MILLION ALL OF WHICH NOT DEEMED SUCCESSFUL ENOUGH TO CONTINUE AIRING
Thought it appropriate.

Sharknado only caught on after its original air date, though. Also it probably cost like 47 dollars to make, 25 of which went to Tara Reid.
