curious whether this is structural or a more recent (last 3-4 years) thing
Yes, but its gotten much, much worse.

And to be clear, I'm not bagging on y'all for having kids, I just wouldn't feel OK bringing anyone else into this shitshow right now.
A very small part of me felt that way in 2015 however a buddy of mine who heads up security at a hospital and had just gone through active shooter training told me this: It’s a chance to bring more *good* people into the world which is what we need.

This guy sees it all coming into the hospital. Drugged up lunatics, shooting victims, etc.

My feelings toward giving people the benefit of the doubt have diminished, and given way to feelings that people like this should die.

It’s really annoying. And those Walmart employees don’t get paid enough to deal with these types of protestors.

I definitely feel this way a lot. Some people still deserve it, but I've realized there's a lot of people who don't.

He appears drunk to me. All those people could be allowing him to get behind a wheel. Very reckless for everyone. At the Walmart in my town, there is an armed guard (not police) letting people in and out so that the employees don't have to deal with this behavior (as much), I wonder what would have transpired had this guy pulled this act toward a guard. Maybe an eager and moral 17 yo could help him see the error of his ways.
