I dont they are similar at all...i what sense? the acoustic guitars? Daughter is a super complex song, with a great use of the band's talents. It also has a fucking cool outro and a very cool country solo.

Small Town is more of a straightforward acoustic number.

The live tags were always wonderful too..The band super locked in, jamming...every drummer they had made something different...from the funkyness of Dave to the more psychadelic approach of Matt....what a great fucking song Daughter is....

I have no problem with Hail Hail winning this whole thing, but my vote goes to Daughter.

My first love. The song that got me into Pearl Jam. A song I've probably listened to more than any other over the course of my life and somehow still haven't gotten tired of. Everything about that studio recording is perfection.
