this is where they started to lose me for a while. I think they do it better now (with some huge caveats), but I tend to think they are at their best as seekers rather than finders.

Brendan told Mike to compose a solo which is something he needed to be told.

No. The song is great with both halves. The outro is the best, but it belongs right where it is, following what comes before. Genius song.
