As is often the case, I'm looking forward to that Spoon album.

Yes, these new Spoon tracks are enjoyable. Just good rock music.

I really like the vocal stylings from the Fontaines DC singer.

That intro reminds me of another song

I concur. I love the song they did on the VU tribute this year too.

I guess when you consider I love Billy Bragg and Joe Strummer and Scott Hutchinson and various 'Strine singers it's no real surprise.

It's funny how accented deliveries can be so divisive to music fans, but on a case by case level.

That Broken Social Scene track that psychobain posted is part of a collection of b-sides and rarities that has just released today called Old Dead Young. I believe it's part of the band's delayed and extended 20th anniversary celebration. You can listen to it on your streaming platform of choice, or purchase it at Bandcamp, the Arts & Crafts label page, or a record store.

New Animal Collective album, Time Skiffs is out February 4, led by the singles "Prester John" and "Walker." Most of the material has been worked up live over the last few years and from some of the recordings I've heard, this is going to be a lovely record with a more jazzy, chilled-out sound than any of their other mainline works.

Continuing a streak of productivity, El Ten Eleven are releasing the follow-up to their 2020 triple album, Tautology, on Joyful Noise March 4. The new album is called New Year's Day, and it's preceded by two tracks, the title song and "Metta Metta." I've been kinda lukewarm on their Sonny DiPerri produced, "proper studio" albums (since 2018), but I know that there's some other fans on here, and I'll certainly be giving it a chance.

I've always enjoyed this band, but I'm particularly a fan of their new single for a record out in February:
