Pretty much what you would expect. In Sydney you get they drunk flag wearing fuckheads and usual stoned off their arse or worse druggies. Some people don't get it that alcohol and ecstasy don't mix when standing in the sun all day.
Its no worse than a night out in Cronulla or the Gold Coast...
Yeah, I've been before too. It's a pretty shitty atmosphere. They also setup the main stage in line with the afternoon/evening sun, so for several hours you couldn't see anything until the sun went behind the stage.
AND THEN THE BIG DAY OUT RAN OVER MY DOG
Atmosphere better in Adelaide than the Gold Coast I take it ? Or have I offended you somehow with more perceived whingeing when answering a question posed by another poster?

Adelaide venue should be interesting, first time they've held it at Bonython Park. It seemed to work well for Soundwave when I went a few years ago.

Come on man, this is RM, I am allowed to dislike something. This is simply my opinion based on my previous experiences with the BDO. You don't have to agree with my opinion, but at least respect it - as I do yours.

Good to see you back, Brisjam.
I've never been to a BDO. Now's a good a time as any to start.

Yeah still around... had to rejoin for some reason.
A tour will always bring me back out even this one.
I noted with some sadness the decline of the trading forum....

Perhaps it would've been if the statements weren't valid... but humour like the enjoyment of festival tours varies....
Having said that my dissapointment has waned a little and I've decided to grab tickets for the Goldie. Will skip the rest for the change...

Yeah, not overly keen on this set up but a few things of interest should I end up at my first BDO:
1. Arcade Fire. Fucking awesome!
2. Likely to be me and my son for his first proper concert.
3. Never done a BDO before, should probably check one out at some point.
4. I would be kinda surprised if PJ made it back this way again.
5. PJ tour! Fucking awesome!
Seriously, every minute I'm changing my mind - buy tickets, fuck it all. I guess I'll hedge my bets and pony up for a pair tomorrow morning, but I just don't know.
I'm thinking I should try for the $285 "Like a Boss" tickets so that at least I can lord it over all the other dirty little plebs there...

Do you think it'd be worth going to both Sydney shows? Or will the set be largely the same because it's a festival? I'm guessing the non-Australia Day one would be the better option if only doing one.

Thanks...
Must admit figured that out just after I posted when I noticed all the join dates of other posters....

On Aussie day the chances of PJ doing a cover of Down Under have to be huge!

I really like Naked and Famous too, be sure to check them out if you're free during their set.

1. I feel the same way. I'm possibly more excited about seeing them at the moment.
2. What a way to start!

They'd definitely change up the sets.
