I saw two other labradoodles out and about today and they are exactly the same as my dog. Looks, mannerisms, exactly the same.

I take my dog with me just about every time I go running. Average about 2.25 miles or so. Any time I go 3 or more she really starts dragging.

I was talking to a mom at a birthday party today whose dog will run up to 11 miles with her!

Is the mom as fast a runner as you?

It’s always been quite the struggle to get a harness or collar or anything on Oliver Chud so we can take him for a walk. Earlier in the week Mrs Wease and the oldest Weaseling actually got the harness on so they could walk him. And they left it on him this time. Since the , he’s just been moping around, not eating, just behaving all defeated and depressed. I kept telling Mrs Wease it was the harness and she would have none of it. So we took the harness off last night and he was immediately transformed. He was bouncing all around, tail wagging. Ate like a starved pup this morning. He’s back to his old self. I’ll be honest, I kinda liked him better in his docile state, but it just wasn’t him.

Our Alby (3 posts up for reference) is a big boy who used to cause us a lot of grief taking us for a walk every day. My wife struggled to control him and it was a real problem.

We ended up grabbing a slip leash and he instantly became the easiest to walk dog ever. You suddenly had total control of him, and best bit, no collar required. The leash slips straight over his head and off when done. He knew the leash meant a walk so no dramas at all getting him to want it on.

Lovely dogs. What's the story with the name Strat? In Finnish Tikka means woodpecker.
