Yeah TVG, reshoots are actually SUPER common! IdiotBurtReynolds wrote:Reshoots are fairly common, but it's a matter of degree. The reshoots of something like The Marvels or Solo are not part of normal filmmaking at all, and this sounds like it might be the same thing.
I'm not even against reshoots. Whatever it takes to make a movie good is good to me. But it sounds like Disney is designing by committee and failing to fix the underlying problems that are causing their budgets to explode without any rise in quality.

I didn't realize that it wasn't common knowledge that completely reshooting multiple major scenes in a movie was not at all a normal part of the process. But I assure you, it is not normal, though Disney had been making a bad habit of making it more common lately.

Solo is a completely different thing. They changed director and also re did the whole movie. Im dont know whats the case of both The Marvels or this one yet, but again reshoots in this scale of movies happen all the time.BurtReynolds wrote:Reshoots are fairly common, but it's a matter of degree. Well see with time, even if i suppose Marvel is shaping their next batch of movies into something new because its clear the approach they took in the last couple of project didnt quite worked for them and the audience.

One thing that is very different is that, for the longest time, Marvel didn't do reshoots "after negative results in test screenings." In fact, up until very recently (The Marvels, I think), they didn't do test screenings at all. So there is a shift in their approach, but I'm unsure just what is motivating it.

This is a good point. But remember THESE THINGS ARE SUPER UNCOMMON EXCEPT WHEN THEY ARE COMMON!Jorge wrote:One thing that is very different is that, for the longest time, Marvel didn't do reshoots "after negative results in test screenings." Maybe they should change the title to Captain America: Civil War!

I think we should take Burt and Joey out back and reshoot them in the face.
