I changed my mind, this thread should not be open to outside opinion.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

breaking bad strikes me as a lesser version of sopranos and mad men, but squarely within that taxonomyThe Argonaut wrote:Thank god no one is mentioning Breaking Bad
i know i'm supposed to have seen it, and after rewatching breaking bad at the conclusion of saul, i'm doing itMickey wrote:The Americans would be my top, and really only, vote for a fifth head on this televisual Mt. Rushmore.

what are your top four douglas?doug rr wrote:we only watched season 1 and part of 2 of the wire...we really liked it but never went back..maybe one day
sorry comrade, but now i must remove mad men from subject line and you will be summarily shot until deadThe Argonaut wrote:I'm trying to think of a nice way to say this, but I can't think of one. This thread is fascist!
Better Call Saul is held back by its dependence on Breaking Bad. There are too many "tee hee remember this guy" moments in the first couple seasons, and I'm not sure the sixth season makes sense if you aren't super familiar with Breaking Bad.Malloy wrote:but i am keen to hear what shouldd be in the subject line. my guess is after next week some might say saul. there was a time in the middle of the second season of barry that I thought it was possible it would be here, too.
I would be proud to die for Joan Holloway (of Mad Men)Malloy wrote:sorry comrade, but now i must remove mad men from subject line and you will be summarily shot until deadThe Argonaut wrote:I'm trying to think of a nice way to say this, but I can't think of one. This thread is fascist!
