there are several good clips from this movie, but Hanks getting stuck in the floor is one of my favs. if it's already been said, i'm sorry, but i don't know that Hanks ever gets enough credit for his physical humor. a lot of those 80's movies were some of his best in terms of physical comedy.

Forrest Gump has some good moments and represented a big step forward in various aspects of filmmaking but it's mawkish in a bad way, too focused on being blandly wholesome to really say anything. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid, but that's basically where it's stayed in my life.

Would be interesting to hear directiy from him, but I feel in Hank’s case these are really standout movies. Cast Away the worst of them for me, but I believe Hanks loved it.

I actually watched Family Ties every week in the late 80s. It wasn’t better than big Oscar winning movies, but it was a good show.
