Texas falls squarely under the cheap architecture of the south category. Beige is the closest thing to white without being white.

I have two depressing beige memories, both circa 2011. One: I was very hungry and I was at a Route 99, a family casual dining regional chain. I ordered chicken and fries, and when it arrived everything was beige. Even the plate and tablecloth were beige. I was so sad. Two: I was in New York, first thing in the morning waiting for the subway to go to this job I had then. I looked down and my jacket was beige, my pants were beige, even my sneakers were a light brown. I was sad, and embarrassed.

I'm more of a Tennessee Orange guy than a Texas Orange guy.

There’s absolutely no way that beige is spelled the way it is and still pronounced “beige”. Its entire existence is a fraud.
