Mike Mills is absolutely brilliant. A musical genius when it comes to his contribution to R.E.M.Chris_H_2 wrote:mike mills

Kiedis is the weak link in RHCP and you know it.tragabigzanda wrote:I only listen to powerhouse combinations
i agree with all of this. it's not to say he's bad. it's just relative to the other band members, he's probably the most expendable.Anders wrote:Mike Mills is absolutely brilliant. A musical genius when it comes to his contribution to R.E.M.Chris_H_2 wrote:mike mills

I would characterize him as more divisive than weak.
Out of the four, Billy Berry out.Chris_H_2 wrote:i agree with all of this. it's not to say he's bad. it's just relative to the other band members, he's probably the most expendable.Anders wrote:Mike Mills is absolutely brilliant. REM isn't anything without Stipe obviously, or Peter Buck. And I think that Bill Berry was the glue for the band judging by it's output after he left.
By the way, my friend hooked up with Mike Mills when they played Rome in 1995.

Besides, i really like his singing.

Yeah good luck lol. Trent doesn't seem to believe in weak links.tragabigzanda wrote:I'd need a NIN org chart to weigh in on that one
yeah, Darcy is a good example, although i always loved how she played in SP. Paz and Melissa are better musicians for sure.Ello Sailor wrote:D'arcy Wretzky was an obvious one. Although in hindsight when she was on, she was probably better than MadM and Ginger. Take the Eurockéennes 04-07-1997 (Belfort, France) performance for example -- her playing is super punchy and tight throughout. Paz and Nicole are definitely better bass players and vocalists, though.
Paz and Nicole, absolutely. Not really sure about Melissa. Her backing vocals were amazing in Hole, but her bass playing was always very average IMO. I guess she gets points for writing two solo albums? Her live vocals were disastrous while touring them, though.VinylGuy wrote:yeah, Darcy is a good example, although i always loved how she played in SP. She actually wrote the basslines on Oceania. I don't think Billy has ever allowed that to happen, aside from maybe with Paz in Zwan. And they're great basslines! Also her backing vocals are a step up from the others (excluding Paz, who is basically a goddess without equal).VinylGuy wrote:yeah, the albums are cool. Im not saying she is the greatest but she seem like a better musician than Darcy.
Why do you like Nicole so much?
Great we turn this thread into a SP one.
