i'm not usually a fan of stone's writing, but that is a great verse, especially the last linedigster wrote:How's our mother to damn these contributors with mud?
How will the man who made chemicals difficult shed blood?
How's our father supposed to be told?
That last line is just brutal.

I dunno, I like "Sad" a lot but I find the writing in that particular verse hammy, heavy-handed and cluttered. He has to stress the wrong syllable in "replace" to fit the meter. It's a little awkward.Strat wrote:turned2black wrote:in his room with memories for days, he faced
an undertow of future’s laid to waste, embraced
by the loss of one he could not replace
Yea this one is intense. Hits too close to home far too often.

Even out of context, I'm a huge fan of "and this nation's about to explode." That line gives me chills every time, even all these years later.stip wrote:i'm not usually a fan of stone's writing, but that is a great verse, especially the last linedigster wrote:How's our mother to damn these contributors with mud?

I think you're right, but it still packs enough punch. I like it. Though it probably suffers from the same symptoms, I also really like "Eleven nights he laid in bed, hoping that dreams would bring her back."theplatypus wrote:I dunno, I like "Sad" a lot but I find the writing in that particular verse hammy, heavy-handed and cluttered. Now hovers over me

Holy shit that's what he's saying?! I was listening to it last night and I couldn't figure it out, emasculate? Immaculate? Yeah, for the longest time I thought it was "he lit a match, he laid in bed." Which I think is a pretty cool line, actually. But I'm pretty sure it's "Eleven nights." Though, with Eddie, I'm never 100%. Even with a lyrics sheet.

While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

I mean, if the boats not safe and they're drowning then the captain is just as fucked as everyone else. The ocean doesn't care who you are if the boat goes down. But if the boat's safe but the crew is drowning, it says a lot more about class-ism which fits the theme of Green Disease better.

And the road the old man paved
The broken seams along the way
The rusted signs, left just for me
He was guiding me, love, his own way

He was guiding me, love, his own way
