Yeah, I feel like setting this 15 years after the events of the last movie helps (to some extent) in that regard. But we'll see. I do fully expect some more familiar characters, to be sure. But hopefully only those that make sense for the story.
Obviously she’ll have Chewbacca, Threepio and Artois with her. Who else would they be with?
I hadn't even thought about Chewy, 3P0 and R2. But those make sense. Though, at this point it feels more like BB8 is her droid than R2.

I think those that you mentioned but also Finn, BB8, and Grogu are all on the table as obvious possibilities. Rose is another one that could be possible.

This is definitely gonna need a trilogy. Not a one shot.

Kathleen Kennedy speaks about the recently announced "New Jedi Order" Era starring Daisy Ridley as Rey she said..

"Well we're 15 years out from Rise Of Skywalker so we're post-war, post-First Order, and the Jedi are in disarray, there's a lot of discussion around Who are the Jedi? What are they doing? What's the state of the galaxy? She's attempting to rebuild the Jedi Order, based on the books, based on what she promised Luke, so that's where we're going."

Every time I read (Daisy's back! confirmed!) in the thread title, I get the biggest fucking smile on my face.

I finally fully understand how all the Luke fans felt for so long -- wanting so badly to see their hero form a new Jedi Academy/Order/Etc. I just can't believe it.

I’d say we’re gonna go like this order
Rey Skywalker movie
Mangold movie
Filoni movie.

The Rey movie is a dead cert lock. The Filoni one too. Mangolds the only one with a question mark and purely based on previous projects seemingly having been dropped.
Waititi is still writing his film too. I’d say after two of the above films you’ll see Johnson’s announced officially as what’s to come.

Will we all be even alive then? Hopefully.

yeah the sequel trilogy was a disservice to the originals to say the least. Rey is Disney´s character so it makes sense they come back to it. They have a whole hotel around her.

Is gonna be interesting to see does she already have an academy or is just setting one up?
I know Kennedy spoke to it but it isn’t written yet (unless they have an outline)

I’d say grogu is a lock though.
