Keep that batting helmet on. Though I must say that was an exciting time to watch the Mets.philpritchard wrote:I would be happy to counter with my favourite athlete of all time, John Olerud.Harry Lime wrote:The man has the sexiest swing I've ever seen.

For baseball I was a big ken Griffey Jr. fan but my favorite athlete overall would be Mike Richter.
he's the only guy ever that I actually stop what I'm doing or put things off to sit down and watchMonkey_Driven wrote:Tiger Woods
Infidelities aside he is one of the most dominant athletes ever and his career peaked right when I was getting into golf and following sports.

It's a lot of things. Obviously his time at UT was awesome, especially watching him break the rushing record while they also beat A&M. Then he played through a lot of adversity during his first few years and was great for the Dolphins, and we all know what happened next. I think he paved the way for guys now who are speaking out and saying that there is more to life than football. You see guys choosing their health over a paycheck and I think Ricky's decision (while hated at the time) was a big influence on that. He wanted to be thought of as a human being as well as a football player, and I really admire that. He's just a really interesting guy and was a beast of a player.Harry Lime wrote:Orpheus wrote:I'll probably get shit for this, but if I'm honest with myself it's probably Ricky Williams.E.H. I always thought Ricky reminded me of regular people, doing a job he hates because he needs the money.Orpheus wrote:It's a lot of things.
