These are the top movies I’ve seen since my last post, just over a week ago. Really good week, as it was my last week watching 2017 movies, and I had saved some really good ones, that I had never seen before. Also got Lowlife recommended by Jorge, and started off 2018 strong, with the final two movies above.

First Reformed reached my top ten of 2017, so that will be my pick for movie of the week.

For the first time in probably nearly three years I have not watched any movies in the past week. I spent the last week watching the Netflix limited series Maid, starring Margaret Qualley. It was good, rather good

Dipping into some Halloween movies this past week. It's really hard to choose between Interstellar and Aliens - I'll give it to Aliens.

A Star Is Born will be my pick of the week (or since my previous post in this thread). Fantastic performances by the lead acttors.

Edit: just watched Utøya: July 22

A very powerful movie about the tragic events in Norway in 2011.

Do not confuse with the much worse 22 July by Paul Greengrass. That is not the same movie.

Lots of Carpenter last week. The only movie I didn't really care for was Elysium.

My favorite last week was In the Mouth of Madness.

A good week of movies. Best movie this week was Thief, but they were all enjoyable.

I really enjoyed it. It was a beautiful movie - the CGI was excellent - it moved at a good pace and I found the story emotionally resonant.

I went in blind, which always helps and didn't see any of the criticism the movie's been getting until after I saw it. I also just love going to the theater.
