Hamas knew the results of their unconscionable cruelty would be a temporary re-occupation of Gaza. They knew what that would mean for innocents in Gaza and they did it anyway. They want to force the martyrdom of the people of Gaza to try and break Israel's normalization of relations with their Arab neighbors that has been going on for a decade because Hamas knows that once peace is shown to be possible, that once Israel's Islamic neighbors learn they can peacefully coexist and trade with the Jewish state, their power is gone. If it looks like the world doesn't care, it's because the world is sick of these psychopaths actively preventing the peace process from succeeding and are getting out of the way knowing that Israel will now bear the burden of what has to be done to stop this death spiral.

I was responding to the comment about if Iran gives a nuke to Hamas, but I take your point

there are tactical nukes that are smaller that still do a lot of damage to a specific area. Maybe that would be the idea.

Everyone should view Hamas as a terrorist organization after this, that should be outlawed and fought against, like Al-Qaeda or ISIS.

While Israel deserves support for these horribe terrorist attacks, the civilian population of Gaza must also be protected. Stopping water can not be the solution. Peaceful evacuation of the civilian population must be of the highest priority.

After this I can see no other solution than Israel invading Gaza. Hopefully as humanely as possible.

Hezbollah are from Lebanon, although of course they are supported by the Syrian and Iranian government.

Apart from being a major smuggling route, Syria is rather too busy with domestic issues to be a major threat to anyone. This is specifically threatening the weakest member of the Iranian backed alliance, to some unclear effect. It's not like Assad can call any of this off.
