I was born and raised in the Nebraska, but we really only went to Lincoln for Nebraska college football games, state high school events, and the state fair. My brother just moved there a year ago but I have yet to visit his place.
What time of year will you be there, Jorge?
Have you ever eaten a Runza?

Pack your winter coat. Winters can be pretty brutal that time of year, especially with the wind.
Solid advice.

I was born 90 miles west of Lincoln in 1966..like m_d, only really went to Lincoln for college games..I have only been back to Nebraska once in probably 25 years...luckily my dad took a job transfer and took us all to boulder Colorado in 1974...anyway, my mom made the best runza's ever..just prepare yourself to see nothing but Nebraska Cornhusker flags, shirts and everything else...thats all the state has

Can't wait! I love frosty winters (for short periods)

I love Runzas, especially with cheese. Reviews from non-locals can be mixed, however. Their crinkle cut fries are very good.
I'm not sure if they do it still, but they used to run a promotion in the winter where you could buy a Runza for whatever the temperature was if you also bought fries and a drink.

Have you ever been in the middle of America in deep winter? It’s a whole other animal.

this is the type of alpha jorge needs
does columbia even have temperatures that merit a winter coat?
you might have just saved this man’s life
jorge, if you don’t have a winter coat, i would suggest buying the largest, puffiest, and most expensive Nebraska Cornhuskers starter jacket and walking off the plane in it like a total incognito local

looks like on average it’s between 19-39 degrees Farenheit (pre-windchill) in Lincoln in Feb, with a record low of <checks notes> negative 23 degrees Farenheit
be ready for those outlier temps!
do not walk outside with skin exposed or wet shower hair

While Buenos Aires is fairly warm, Argentina does have colder areas.

I bet 95 percent of my elementary/middle school had Nebraska Starter jackets back in the day.

I once spent a couple weeks in the Adirondacks in the middle of January. Lots of snow, lows of 10F. I'm sure it'll be colder in Nebraska but it won't be my first super-winter. I have a coat!

i think the problem is most places that serve them don't get them crisp enough, and they easily fall apart.
fried potatoes should hold strong or gtfo.
