And just like that, sobriety is uncool again.

Gonna go get shitfaced.

I don’t have any overwhelming urge to drink. It was more of a habit and something to do, mostly on the weekends. I’m going to a concert so I’ll probably break the seal with a beer or two then. Going forward, I’ll try to stick to dry Sundays through Wednesdays (Thursdays feel like the start of the weekend).

I don’t know who decided January would be the best dry month. When it’s cold and dark outside, nothing beats a fire in the fireplace and some whiskey (pick your poison)... maybe I’ll do dry July

Dry July? In the northern hemisphere July means backyard barbecues, music festivals, pool parties, sporting events... all perfect for a nice cold beer. I'd much rather not drink during chilly January (if I were to partake in this dumb thing at all)

abstaining from alcohol during any month is a smart thing to do for one's overall wellbeing

Vitalogist has a point (drinking out of boredom in the depths of winter more than anything), but I’ll side with you here. Would be much harder to go dry in summer; I have a boat for heaven’s sake.

Fall is a good time to dry out, just before the holidays.

You shouldn’t drive a boat while drinking, spike

My wife likes to think she’s the ship captain, which means driving, so I just roll with it. 8-)

I think we're going to do a dry February...except for when we're in London

I just took 8 days off from drinking. Felt great. People should do what feels right/good for them.
