The little moose breath scene cracked me up. Almost like it was ad libbed or something. Felt like it was from a different movie.
- Spoiler: show
- I'm guessing at some point the script had the dad being alive? I don't know. It was bad.
Also, didn't the original say that only suicides had to work the civil service jobs? I think they retconned that out.

Meh!!! I laughed once or twice.
I never have been a big Burton fan truth be told.
I thought Ryder Ohara and Ortega bounced off each other well enough. And Keaton was the star. The movie just seemed to rush thru the different stories so fast that they kind of hoped you missed all the holes in them.
5-6/10

The way they dressed up Ryder’s now 50something character in the same goth look she had as a teenager is very very depressing to me and that alone is enough to keep me away from seeing this

This was a big bowl of fine, but rarely anything spectacular. Was it just me or was Winona not playing Lydia at all?

- Speaking of dads, did they ever explain why piranha dad didn't see them? He was just crammed into the movie and it made no sense.
Everything related to this sucked, not because it was a bad idea (you needed it for Lydia jr.'s character arc) but because it was done so awkwardly. It's like they only got the actor for a half day or something.
I agree with the criticism that it's overstuffed but the breakneck pace of the film is one of its strengths, and most of the plotlines lead to at least a couple memorable moments. I loved the "MacArthur Park" scene a LOT and I think that's going to be one of the most divisive elements
Yeah that MacArthur Park sequence shouldn’t have worked, but it was oddly beautiful?

Not only that, but keaton wasn't playing Beetlejuice at all.
WTF happened here? They totally neutered Keaton/Beetlejuice.
This was totally Ohara's movie and everyone else just kind of showed up. Super disappointing. I wasn't expecting it to be great or anything, but at least entertaining.
Damn.
