I can’t believe I open the yacht rock thread and most of the posts on the first page are about Jimmy Buffett, who is NYACHT yacht. He’s marina rock.

The HBO doc is great. I’m glad they had JD Ryznar and Hollywood Steve Huey heavily featured throughout.

I just found out that the venue PJ played after wrapping recording of Vs, Slim’s in San Francisco, was owned by Boz Scaggs.

I had/have that show on cd. Might have been my first live boot.

The Lido Shuffle is a top ten song for me, not just yacht rock, but overall.

I dig Lido Shuffle but I go more for Lowdown.

All of these choices are valid. I just love Lido. It makes me happy every time I hear/sing it.

Yeah I watched it and really it was a lot of fun. I had also watched Beatles 64 in the last few days and this was more entertaining for sure. Beatles 64 felt like a hodgepodge of material stitched together to humanize the Beatles in the Beatlemania era, and highlight just how massive an impact they had in that moment, it it didn’t have the arc and frankly humorous tone this one did. And now I have to spend the next few days with What a Fool Believes in my head.

When I was a young lad my cousin (a year older than me) asked what tape I wanted him to get me for my birthday. He was a member of the Kiss Army (I couldn't stand them myself) and I told him I wanted Boz Scaggs Silk Degrees. He couldn't believe I was serious and I don't think he's ever thought well of me since tbh.

Still enjoy that album though.

Gene Ween at Slim's in 1994...

GW: So this place is owned by Boz Scaggs?
Crowd: Yeah!
GW: That's pretty funny.

Finally watched. What a joy! Music to sit down and dance to. Love it. My God, Peg is perfection.

My wife and a bunch of our friends have gotten tickets to TOTO with Christopher Cross this summer, so I will be bathing in yacht rock for a full evening then.

This would be a great Super Bowl halftime choice.

Dash Crofts has passed. Seals and Croft had some great songs. Been loving this one a lot lately.
