There’s still time to dump the Dead Pioneers before Nashville
They did. Teen Jesus makes their debut in Nashville!
It’s very hard to take that band seriously now.
Teenjus forever!!

It will be absolutely incredible if they comment on that.
I can’t wait to find out!

I'm so bored with their setlists.

Being there is have a blast but I'm done picking them apart. They're just not that interesting anymore. And that's my fault for seeing them/knowing them too much.

you'd think at a jazz festival they might feel the freedom to attempt some of their more creative tunes

instead that setlist pretty much runs straight up the greatest hits highway

agree would still be fän in person

they need to find their chi

does gigaton not even exist for them already

i know it was overcast from a couple pics i saw, but if ever there seemed an appropriate time to close with setting sun, it’d be at the show that ends at 7pm in early may. instead, it looks like they chose the ‘return of the king’ approach.

Not too different from all setlists the last few years.

I'm not mad about it. My point is I've been to way too many shows and poured over way too many setlists to ever actually be surprised or moved by what I see on paper.

RM can deny it all they want but this is true. It's not just shorter sets and fewer encores, it's more casual fan focused and fewer risks, meaning the oh shit moments are just mid album tracks they've done 200 times before. That does not mean there won't be great shows. There will be more and have been many over the last couple years. The band just isn't in that 2010's fuck-it-lets-try-it mode anymore and it's not anyone's fault for noticing the patterns emerging.

RM is going to RM no matter what. There will always be a complaint..."oh they are sloppy" " why they dont play the hits?" " They dont rehearse properly"

its ok

Again I'm not mad. FYI. Again.

They also have a big video screen they've been touring with for DM so I'm sure they want to put that to good use which might make it more difficult to step outside the zone too much.

All good.

yeah, the last encore are the weakest moment specially when you have baba, ledbetter and free world there. Setting Sun, Indifference and Fuckin Up if you want to cover NY could be better.

Of The Earth, Nothing As It Seems, Quick Escape

these could all be encore songs

My two favorite PJ songs are Off He Goes and Red Mosquito, so seeing them on back to back setlists makes me happy lol.
Now just throw in You Are and Unemployable, which are my two other favorites, and we're cookin 8-)

I do love(and I mean it) how this board is the total opposite of just about every band social media group. Every show the donks on Reddit/fb etc. “OMG IS THIS THE BEST SETLIST EVAR11!11!”

I saw a comment on the Pit about how lucky those there were to see Clinch join them on harp for Red Mosquito. Trust me, it wasn’t a treat. Maybe hearing it on the boot will reveal something I missed.
