Yeah I can agree with this--that is a good fade, but for the most part I don't like a bulk of the fade outs that have plagued PJ's catalog. I'm really digging what we've heard from LB so far but goddamn the fade outs for LB and LTRP are horrible, HORRIBLE. I don't know how but it actually makes me mad.

there will be no pause between these two
Didn't say there would be, that's why I'm excited!
You're easy to please, aren't you
Hyperbole, with exclamation mark added for emphasis, because I'm not sure why you felt the need to tell me there wasn't going to be a pause.

Anyway, I'm interested because they haven't done anything creative with their song transitions for ages.
nevermind

i don't mind fadeouts at all. some proper finales can be pretty unimaginative/redundant too.

The fade on lightning bolt makes sense, because if you listen to the last 1-2 seconds of the leaked copy, somthing else starts. Sounds to me like it fades right into the next song.

Yeah but it could've all happened a bit later, right, and had the same effect? I wish there had been one more go-around of Mike's lead part (which I love) before fading into the next song.

The only fadeout I dislike is the one on Wishlist.

I was going to post the same thing. It's the only one that's really stuck out to me. All of the other's are natural enough that I never notice them, but I've never liked "Wishlist"'s fade, even on the first listen.

The sign of a good fadeout:
You're left with that feeling that you want more...

The sign of a bad fadeout:
You're left with that feeling that you want more...

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

The more important factor is how the fadeout transitions into the next song. There is no way to judge any of the LB fades until we hear how the whole album flows.

I think the entire 'mood' of this album will change when we have all the tracks together.

I think they've done something typically "Pearl Jam" in that the song we think is going to be the huge "anthem" of the album... won't be. Earlier on they would release singles that really aren't obvious singles; maybe here they're titling an album with a song that isn't even meant to be the biggest statement.

I love it when you are so rational.

Album title: Ed's like their uh, surfboards & Jeff found a cool artist to try and incorporate all the songs under its umbrella.

And yet, here's the product... and we won't get those questions answered. We judge it for what it is.
