Another cool thing about "Hail Hail" is how its dynamics (in both composition and performance) mirror the lyrics. All that whirling tension and uncertainty finally coming to the head with the "your one enough, your one" and the music finally settles on that chord and it all starts winding down, all the claustrophobic overdrive giving way to that chiming arpeggio, finally letting some air in. It feels like a big exhale. And what I really like is they likely didn't talk about it like that, it's just the band following their creative instincts during a tremendously fertile period.

I love Hail Hail, but anyone who got to see both performed live in person knows how powerful Animal is.

I can only imagine how good it was with Dave Ab on drums back in the day.
