I'm pretty sure it was 12lb test. I was fishing with live worms. I saw it's dorsal fin stick out of the water as I was pulling it in. As far as I was informed, there are only Large Mouth Bass, Blue Gill, Crappie, Red Ear Sunfish, and Catfish in this lake. Of all of those, the dorsal fin looked most like a bass'. This would have been the biggest bass I've ever seen. Like I said, perhaps a world record. And that line, at that size didn't stand much of a chance. But I pulled it all the way up to 5 ft. from the bank, and then snap. I haven't recovered since, but like I said, this thread helps.

stren, trilene or BPS line? what size hook? nightcrawler worm? cans or bottles of beer next to you?
