This thread reminded me that I never picked up the Chronology dvd that came out a while back. Anyone here have it? Pretty good?

I have it. Not as good as I had originally hoped, but certainly an essential piece of any TH collection.

So, pretty confident a reunion wouldn't happen but still fun to read/think about rumors

The other 3 have always said they're down, but Byrne just isn't the type for such things

All that said, I want to see a real Talking Heads show live more than just about anything

And I hope Byrne changes his mind

So the greatest thing this band ever did might just be from the 3:15 mark on of this fucking killer ass track right here:

Oooooooo weeeeeeeeee

While I can't agree with that ranking, I sure do agree that it's a stellar moment.

Might be hyperbole but hitting me in the exact right spot tonight. One of the great outros.

And then it goes right into "Artists Only". Unrelenting.

Right song, wrong version.

I can hear the bass fine. I don't like the frilly shit on the album version and you can't hear the drums. The live version flat out smokes.

Not that I would object to her being mixed higher.

In sections of "Warning Sign" you can hear the Pixies taking shape.

I probably said it the first time around, but Talking Heads in concert with Adrien Belew is basically the greatest thing that's ever happened

The cool thing about that outro is that it is in an odd meter, but you can lay a standard 4/4 beat over it, so you can dance to it anyway. "Get Right" uses a similar trick, not that anyone would notice.

There' something deep and elemental about it. You have to move.

Random aside: have you heard the WTF interview with Byrne? Generally those are not really my bag, as Marone manages to be both more drooly and less factually accurate than your average NPR soft-talker, but that one was great because he had a series of coincidental David Byrne weirdo experiences, and they were so unremarkable to Byrne that he had to take Mark's word for it.

I did hear that. Reaffirmed that I can never get a handle on Byrne, which is what makes him maddening and great.

True Stories has been in rotation as of late. That one's a late career gem. Anyone have a band or David Byrne bio you could recommend? Asher?
