It has come to our attention that there have been some manufacturing issues with the Lightning Bolt vinyl possibly due to the high quality and delicate nature of the special packaging. If you are in receipt of an album that you feel may be defective in some manner, please send an email to UMG Customer service at: fisherscustsvc@umusic.com indicating the specific issue with your copy. Replacement vinyl will begin shipping out early next week to all those affected by this issue.
Don't expect getting new covers from 1OC. This respond I got from 10C on a different occasion:
"We sell music. We do not sell Vinyl "conditionally". We do not advertise items as "mint" or any other condition. If you require pristine items, please purchase them in person so you can inspect and reject any items that don't meet your standards.
IF the actual vinyl is damaged and will not play, we will replace it, but we will no longer replace covers, sleeves, boxes etc that do not conform to your conditional standards."

We are aware that because of the high quality and delicate nature of the special packaging on the vinyl you may be experiencing one or more of the following issues with either the vinyl being damaged, the inner sleeves being torn, or the gatefold ripping on the center seam. If you are in receipt of an album with any of the above defects, please send an email to UMG Customer service at: fisherscustsvc@umusic.com with either a receipt of purchase or a photograph of the damage you are experiencing. Once notified, replacement vinyl will begin shipping the week of October 28th. If you require a replacement on the packaging, please be advised that this will take anywhere from 4-6 weeks as parts of the packaging are made by hand.
Statement from UMG/Republic
Yeah, I've got the pops and skips in addition to the low volume. Significantly lower than anything else I've played recently.Strat wrote:So my vinyl is all in good shape and no pops in the recordings, good. However, the volume on this record is really low compared to most of my other records. Whats up with that? Anyone?

That's absurd. The following specific problems are caused by the high quality of the product?Mine wrote:This is the updated version on their sitedurdencommatyler wrote:cutuphalfdead wrote:Wait, what?numbers wrote:lol at them saying the problem is that the vinyl is so awesome. It has come to our attention that there have been some manufacturing issues with the Lightning Bolt vinyl possibly due to the high quality and delicate nature of the special packaging. To me, that actually sounds like "shitty quality" instead. What's the vinyl weight? By the sounds of it, they are pretty light weight.B wrote:I think "high quality" means "delicate like fine china." Seriously, my vinyl feels like it'll scratch if I blow on it.
It's supposed to be 180g...according to a google cache of the vinyl page because it's currently missing in the PJ shop.B wrote:I think "high quality" means "delicate like fine china." Seriously, my vinyl feels like it'll scratch if I blow on it.
