those are good ones indeed - they rely mostly on intensity while Yield's onwards are more cleverly composed.

Has anyone mentioned Corduroy yet? "Everything has chains!"

I'm listening to S/T again, seeing what I think of it. I still love the bridge of Life Wasted.

I sometimes think Pj writes the bridge first, and build the song around it. And the songs are often not as good asthe bridge(Let the records play for example).

Stone writes the best bridges. I can tell a Stoney bridge a mile away.

I love a good bridge or musical interlude.

As far as a musical interlude goes, I'd go for Faithful.

However, there are many good and great bridge's in their music, but the best is Corduroy. Following closely by Breath.

That's not just my favorite Pearl Jam bridge, but maybe my favorite bridge of all-time.

Long Road has a fantastic one as well.

Awesome.

Can you do that before the bridges have been ranked or retracked?

Yes

Gather all of your tournamenting, song-starring compatriots together

Gather them ever so close to you

All will be well

Severed Hand's bridge is probably my all time favorite bridge. That bridge is the absolute highlight of the album, and I loved it before I ever really thought about what a bridge was. I just knew "That fucking part of the song is awesome."

What is human...what is more? I'll answer this when I get hooooommeee...

True. Yield has great movement within each song.

Breath is a favourite bridge though. It soars.
All of these are true. "Breath" is the first song that came to mind here. "Not For You" has a fantastic bridge too.

"In My Tree" is another one with an amazing bridge.

Google tells me that on NFY it's:

...scream...my friends...don't call me...
...friends, no they don't scream...
...my friends don't call...my friends don't...

And on IMT it's:

up here so high i start to shake
up here so high the sky i scrape
i'm so high i hold just one breath here within my chest
just like innocence
(eddie's down in his home)
(oh, the blue sky it's his home)
(eddie's blue sky home)
(oh, the blue sky it's his home)

Those are just fan transcriptions. Really bad ones too.

I always heard "my friends call me Inny-Butty." I try not to speculate further.
