I'm right there with you. For me this is maybe the best example of a case where the original is stunningly brilliant, and someone manages to cover it in a manner that keeps it stunningly brilliant while making it completely different.

I just looked that one up on youtube (I'm a bad fan who hasn't seen that documentary yet). That's a really fantastic version. Man, I love that song so much. It'd probably crack my top from their catalog.

This is another one I'd put in the same class as Love is Blindness, except the differences are even more stark. The original is one of the most gloriously uplifting songs ever written. This cover makes me want to sit in a dark corner and die. Both are fucking amazing.
