I don't know, pretty sure Seattle beat Denver in every way possible.

Haven't even looked at the 14 page Broncos thread here on RM, but....

Fuck yo Broncos thread!

Maybe just maybe a little respect now? Half our team is on tiny contracts. See you in Glendale. I predict Seahawks vs. Dolphins.

*Edit: Or the Colts.

Moving this to the Seahawks thread...
Bammer wrote:I'm telling you. Start paying attention. Oh and any of those free agents your team wants? They would prefer to play in Seattle.
They'll be able to free ride for one more season on the cheap rookie deals, but in 2015 they'll have to make some real tough decisions. Wilson will get paid big time, and that will be the benchmark for how you decide who stays and who goes. Schneider just needs to keep kicking the shit out of the draft.

I can understand some of Bammer's smugness right now. Teams in the Western United States typically don't get a lot of attention even when they earn it. As a Broncos fan I know this all too well. Where I think he goes wrong is taking it out on this forum. I certainly didn't disrespect the Seahawks, for one.

And wait until the media start looking harder at the PED use in Seattle. Didn't Seattle lead the league in PED use this year?

And then the stories about Pete Carroll's cloud of suspicion at USC resurface again...

And then the NFL cracks its whip for fear of the bad publicity....

Kind of half joking on all of this, but wouldn't be surprised to see the media get aggressive on this....although I think the Seattle media are pretty soft, so it will be up to the national ding dongs to advance this story

Exactly, it was pretty even in predictions here on the board. I had Seattle winning by one point.

In my experience, they would prefer to play where the $ is. Especially once they have a ring.
Now that I've calmed down a little, I will clarify. The week leading up to the game seemed to be pretty even in terms of respect, but then on Sunday morning I got pretty fired up with 90% of people picking the Broncos to win (some by a lot) and all these narratives about how Manning was "destined" or "deserved" or "supposed" to win. Lack of respect, people blindly choosing the poster child...looking at Seattle as a mere stepping stone.

OK... It actually seems now that people are giving the Seahawks their due, which I can appreciate. They left no doubt, that was utter domination.

To the topic at hand: I agree, some of the guys who now have a ring will leave for a bigger paycheck. Michael Bennett, Clinton McDonald, maybe others. I wasn't talking about Seattle's free agents. I am talking about other free agents around the league who will see Seattle as a destination and come here for less money and a chance to win. That is a great place to be as an organization. I also think that the Seahawks have multiple players who could be willing to take a hometown discount in order to keep the team dominant. Russell Wilson first of all strikes me as that type of person. From there, I can only guess and hope but I'd love to think that some of these other guys who are on minimum contracts right now would, for example, see more value in $8M/year on a fantastic team than $11M/year playing for the Browns. I mean really what can $11M get you that $8M can't?

Oh, and I'm calling BS on this board for the fact that the Broncos thread was (is) 5 times longer than the Seahawks thread while all year we were looking at a historically good offense and a historically good defense...we all saw how that turned out yesterday...so yeah, I'm taking it out on all you clowns who thought that Denver was so great and gave them all this attention while ignoring the Seahawks until I started this thread in fucking December.

Come on, the thread lengths are solely caused by the number of frequent posters unique to this forum. Look at how long the Bucs thread is as proof. For rooting for a team that just won its first Super Bowl you're still quite worked up.

Hammer you are full of shit. There is only position who can afford to take a home town discount and that's qb. Every other position has a small shelf life in comparison. In the nfl more so than any other sport you get one big contract (non qb) and you aren't giving a discount on that

I'm still bitter about 2005.

And the 1984 Huskies.

And sharing with Miami in 1991.

Football exists in Washington. Get used to it.

Basketball your playing career is 5 years football is 3 ( on average).

If you're good my guess is football is then 5 years while basketball is probably 8 years.
If you're a star my guess is football is then 8 years while basketball is probably 12 years.
At superstar status football is probably at best 10 years and hoops is 16 - 18 years

Football players unless you are a star player and restructure your contract do not give discounts

Now enjoy your Super Bowl and quit talking like the 12th man is something special despite the specially man made stadium built to enhance the sound

The 12th man is something special. That Seattle had the owner and tax payers who care enough to design it into the stadium is special. It's a great stadium with great fans at the moment.
