I was hoping Darrell Brevell (sp?) from Seattle, or the OC from the 49ers, so this is along the lines I was hoping for, but I just don't know much about Gruden.
I don't know too much about him, but he has been getting crap the last week or 2 for being the one that pushed for Andy dalton when most wanted kaepernick, but i don't know if he will get much say in personnel if Bruce Allen really has gotten a bunch more power now
Saw some of that...I'm not too worried about it though b/c he's coming to Washington with a solid QB situation with RG and Cousins. I really do not think they are going to try to trade Cousins, and I hope they don't. The back-up QB is a very important position, and I feel good having Cousins as the team's back-up.

If they don't get a solid player, or a 2nd round pick, then I hope Washington does not trade him. I know he wants to play more, but he's very valuable right now. Plus, who knows if RG's knees are gonna hold up for an entire season? I hope he stays on the team.

I agree, i would want to keep him as well with the style of play of rg3 but i think a 2nd round pick is probably gonna get it done.....unless someone like Cleveland decides to give up one of their first round picks

Yeah, if the Brown's give up a 1st rounder for Cousins, then they should definitely jump on that. A second rounder would be tempting, but I'm not sure if it's worth given up a solid back-up QBl. Trades could be attractive for the team too...Washington has tons of needs, so a veteran OLineman, ILB, or Corner could work.

Cousins is not a starting QB. At all. Any trade for him would be ill advised, IMO.

Possible, but the flashes he has shown will definitely have the skins phone ringing

there's no way they get a first or second round pick for him though

I would expect teams to try and give a 3rd thinking the skins would be up for it since the got him in the 4th, but a 2nd wouldn't surprise me at all

The more I read about how the Browns' head coaching search is going, the more I'm thinking that it's "meet the new boss, same as the old boss".

So much for Detroit being the best job

The ownership will always put the Lions fairly low on that pecking order. Same with the Browns, as I indicated earlier.

I actually like Caldwell more and did not get the obsession with Whisenhunt. I am in a very small minority though.

Whisenhunt had one good season with a Hall of Fame QB. Caldwell had two!

Caldwells fall was so sudden, so quick because that team WAS Peyton Manning. When he was suddenly gone, the team really had absolutely no options. Whisenhunt was in AZ for what, 6 seasons with one winning record? Both guys are a risk, but I did not, for the life of me understand why everyone was so hard up for Ken Whisenhunt.

meh. I guess. Still just ties him with Caldwell, at a much lower percentage. Either way the point remains the same. It's coming out now that the Lions refused to switch to a 3-4, which given their personnel, and depth at DL, would require an overhaul of players. Probably a bad marriage avoided.

That would indeed have been disastrous for the Lions. The front seven is also probably the Titans' greatest strength, as well, so Whis could be making a big mistake if he insists on making that transition there.

Apparently that was the dealbreaker with the Lions, so I assume he is planning on going 3-4 with the Titans. Rumor is he is bringing Ray Horton wherever he goes, so its almost a forgone conclusion.
