I found Side B to be greatly improved on CD.

Well, at least in the case of LB, it's clear that the mastering was done by different people (John Golden vinyl, Billy Joe Bowers cd). I don't know the deets on the other albums. I'll double-check Binaural for you when my vinyl copy arrives next week

It's about time we fully investigate this rumor. I've believed it for the most part since I don't hear much of a difference for most PJ albums between the two formats, including Binaural.

I realize these posts are super old, but you guys don't understand vinyl mastering at all.

Vinyl is always mastered differently (or even by someone else) than the CD. That isn't the issue.

The issue is that instead of taking the analog master and doing an all-analog mastering like you are supposed to, they just take the CD master and press it to vinyl like cheap-ass motherfuckers. So much for being vinyl champions.

So any favorable/non-favorable comparisons between CD/vinyl are stupid and pointless. You are getting a big pile of shit either way.
