I used to really like Coldplay. For about 5-6 years, starting at the release of X&Y, I was totally on board. A genuine fan. I went to a fucking show. I couldn’t possibly care less what these dudes release anymore.

i was the same way. i liked x & y. and i really liked the next album. i went to see them at alpine valley with my wife where we had awesome seats, and had a really good time. but then the next albums came out and they turned into the nickelback version of the dave matthews band.

i liked some of X&Y

viva la vida was good if i remeber correctly

ghost stories was a good album also (after his divorce)

most of the best coldplay are the simple and sad songs

Was this before or after the peak of your 311 fandom?

So that was you yelling “Chris rules!” and rocking out during their set at the Global Citizen Farcical.

I've never seen my wife as angry as when she heard Coldplay during labour.

So the first 2 singles are clunkers. Even their good albums had a dud here and there.

I keep hearing that orphans song. It's such a cheap and obvious attempt at some anthemic song they can get played for Olympic openings, overcoming adversity news pieces, and eventual documentaries on life after pandemic resurgence movies.
