but No Way is damn near perfect. I think i nearly fainted when i heard it for the first time. this is the most depressed I've felt about Pearl Jam fans in a looong time.

Rather than flip a coin, I did the PearlJamSongTracker thing and No Way came out a good bit above Animal. So it gets my vote here.

Animal is great and ferocious and sounds so good on the album but No Way is all sex appeal. Lyrics, tone, riff, rhythm and all.

Love both songs. But, Animal takes it in this tough match. Animal/RITFW '93 MTV Music Awards with Neil Young was a seminal moment for me as a fan.

there's nothing ostensibly 'wrong' with Animal, but against No Way it just doesn't hack it.
Animal was fairly boring to me as a single off of Vs. - i could never get past feeling like it was trying too hard.
