Wow yeah that opener is killer, took me way off guard after listening to stinkers like Fever and Turn Blue...especially Fever.

Lots of sexy jams on this album and a couple clunkers. Overall I was totally impressed upon first listen. We wil see once I dig into it more! I do miss some of his meaty guitar work but....

First spin, not sure, not as immediate as their later stuff.
Will need more time.

Yeah overall it didn't turn out as bad as I was expecting (judging by the first single), but I've only listened once. El Camino didn't age that well with me. I still miss the raw sound and it kind of feels like they've done this soul/r&b-ish vibe in relatively small doses on Brothers and El Camino. This album is like an overdose of heavily produced soul jams or whatever you want to call it--some strike me more than others. It deserves a few more listens but have a feeling it will be on the lower end of my BK album rankings.
After only listening once, Weight of Love is by far the standout. The only song that really struck me as an "atmospheric blues rock" song, should be pretty bad ass live.

I really like the fact its not as obvious as El Camino. El Camino has aged super poorly.

Yea this n El Camino are gonna end up on the low end bk albums.. I do respect that they changed things up on this one but I like the other stuff better
As completely forgettable as El Camino is.. it does contain little black submarines which is one of my favorite bk songs

Like everyone has said already, this is much better than EC, but that's not saying much, save for LBS which is an incredible tune. It's decent, but still nowhere close to the old school, dirty, bluesy, guitar ridden first few albums. Give me old school Keys in a dingy basement any day.

They have some breaks over the tour, a week here, a few weeks there, but during weeks while they are on the road, every Saturday is booked and all but 3 Sundays. I'm impressed with their tour.

Went into one of the local music stores at lunch and I saw they already had this in stock. Didn't notice any vinyl however...

Apparently these guys are touring with St. Vincent and are having the gall to make her the opening act.

A position she obviously agreed to. It would expose her to a lot of potential new fans.
But yeah, I see what you're getting at.

if you say this band's name very fast, you sound like a racist.
