I would start at the beginning, but the beginning should really be Ten Rapid, not Young Team. The key to Mogwai is to make sure to listening to EVERYTHING. Some of the best stuff is on their non-studio albums. EPs, soundtracks, B-sides, special collections, etc.
Ten Rapid. Ok.

That Burning dvd is fucking awesome....

I found a used 10 inch split they did with Bardo Pond back in 01 (I think) at the record shop a few weeks ago for $10. Only one song from each band, but I regret nothing about the purchase.

I like the middle records best... Happy Songs for Happy People - Mr Beast - The Hawk Is Howling.

I prefer the early stuff. I'd go for C.O.D.Y > EP > Rock Action.

Or just play Helicon 1.

Did I miss something or is there a new album coming out?

Was listening to this band earlier this week. Damn good morning commute music. :)

New music coming Monday, but I'm not sure if it's music for this soundtrack or something else.

We're pleased to finally be able to share the details of our new studio album with you. It's called Rave Tapes and is scheduled for release on 20th January via our own Rock Action Records label for the UK & EU, Sub Pop in North America, Hostess in Japan and Spunk Records in Australia.

Rave Tapes was recorded in our Castle of Doom studio in Glasgow this year and was produced by Paul Savage with whom we've worked on the Mogwai Young Team and Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will records.

The album will be available on CD, LP, Digital and Ltd edition box set (featuring the LP itself, an exclusive 12", a book of studio photography by iconic photographer Steve Gullick shot during the recording sessions, 3 x 12" x 12" art prints, a 7" and a CD version of the album).

The tracklist is as follows:
1. Heard About You Last night
2. Simon Ferocious
3. Remurdered
4. Hexon Bogon
5. Repelish
6. Master Card
7. Deesh
8. Blues Hour
9. No Medicine For Regret
10. The Lord Is Out Of Control

This is really good. I love that the band is not afraid to shift their sound. They may not be monumental shifts, but it's usually enough to keep things interesting.
