Actually, each go around of the riff is one bar of 12/8. Good guess though.Strat wrote:Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:Always a good sign that someone knows what he's talking about.Alex wrote:i can't remember cropduster
The outro of Cropduster is top notch. Love me some 7/8 time sig's.

i was not clear with my original statement. the 7/8 was in regards to the main verse riff. Now come kiss me.Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:The outro.Strat wrote:Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:Actually, each go around of the riff is one bar of 12/8. Ask me on the right day and I might call "In the Moonlight" my favorite PJ tune.

Kevin Davis is responsible for at least 3 In The Moonlight listens where I've tried to go back and figure out what he hears in it.

The uncomfortable jaggedness of the verses opening up into sexy soulful spaciousness in the chorus.
Gets me everytime. Love it.

I think Matt gets pigeon-holed by PJ songs, and the rest of the band gets pigeon-holed by Matt songs.

Re: matt cameron's songwriting
I'm not one who typically keeps track of who penned each song or whatever. But I love most of the songs mentioned so far: In the Moonlight, Cropduster, You Are, Evacuation, these are all really nice to fucking brilliant. In the Moonlight and Cropduster, especially, being two among some of my very favorite by the band.
