It was a very specific callback to Vermin's podcast about Gone Girl. Which I just listened to yesterday. And since he and I have had a brief, but healthy debate about what the film is and isn't doing, I thought I would make a lighthearted jab at the podcast.

In no way was I being flippant about society's attitudes towards rape victims. I was being flippant about Vermin's attitude toward Gone Girl.
