You're an idiot if you think its better than In Utero
I think it's better than In Utero and I think we can both agree I'm smarter than you
No

Siamese Dream has far too much weedly-weedly guitar solo crap.

But Jorge said so....

Oh no, guitar solos!
That album is sheer beauty. The perfect middle ground between hook-laden alternative rock and the ethereal noise of shoegaze, with just enough brawn. Nirvana never made anything as good. And Jimmy Chamberlin was a better drummer than Dave Grohl. God, I just keep spitting out truth bombs today, RM, you can't handle me!

I agree with everything you just said. That said, I still prefer In Utero for purely personal reasons: I'm much more into heavy, noisy stuff than shoegaze. Not knocking shoegaze, but...yeah.

The perfect mix of recycled 60's chord progressions and 90's distortion pedal-as-songwriting, with lyrics that make you feel like anybody can be a lyricist because apparently yes.

In Utero is better.

Vs? I certainly prefer it, but I'm not sure which is "better."

You could apply this kind of facile deconstruction to pretty much every 90s rock album and end up with a similarly snarky and dismissive description. Follow enough 50 year old former rock critics on Twitter and you'll see.

An extra high level of snark is required, if one hopes to match the equally over-the-top praise that gets heaped upon these records .

You don't need to match anything, I just said that I really like it, and that I like it more than two other dumb rock records from the 90s. I'm sorry that distracted you from your EIGHT THOUSANDTH MASTURBATION SESSION TO EXILE ON MAIN STREET OR WHATEVER, NERD

7,529. Don't rush it.
And I like the record too, Jorge. I just don't think it's better than good, and I'm bored cos the family is being slow getting ready to go swimming.

It's one of my all-time favorite albums, and I didn't even get heavy into it until a couple years ago. I think it's wonderful. Come at me.

Honest question.
Do any of you (McP mostly) really believe rock music was not important? Or is it "its just musi, you didn't develop a cure for being gay, calm down" sort of thing.
I truly believe that was a powerful time. Not as much of the 60's music scene and revolutions and all that but I do feel it truly had an impact on social behavior and norms
