Is that right?
That's was my question as well and B's post above certainly implies that if you don't get your first choice, you are screwed. This will be interesting for those who pick, and I am going out on a limb here and not basing this at all on the last 15 years of history, MSG night 2 as their top choice and MSG night 1 as their second.

But for the types of tours the band has played since 2007 (smaller runs, usually either US or Europe but not both), it certainly seems to decrease everyone's chances.
I agree. If everyone had a local show they would be able to attend, then this system makes a bit more sense. Since that is highly unlikely, I feel bad for people in Boston/NY/Philly. If you don't get your #1, you better have some frequent flyer miles ready.

fair point. I wonder how much more sophisticated the programs would have to be to elevate second choices of people who are shut out.

On the other hand, what changes here is your shot at getting tickets for your second choice. Your first choice will still likely be easier.

i didnt read the whole thing but i just entered for the tickets to see what happens, but i assume this is still for Pairs of tickets? if so, then i will probably use our overall #1 choice with my fan club # since i have the slightly better number, then our #2 show choice we can make the #1 choice with my wifes fan club #, assuming you have a better chance at your first choice then your 2nd, and hope we both get our number 1 shows

For some reason I have faith this could work... at the very least it looks good.

I think it biases the drawing toward people going to one show. If they come to Carolina, I'll probably just go to that show and choose it as #1. People who are following the band for any length of time will probably choose Carolina as #2 or lower. That example won't make much difference b/c they'll probably have enough tickets for any town here, but in Chicago, NYC, and Philadelphia, the #1s are going to suck up all the tickets.

It's gonna be a tough call if they play a two-nighter in any city, as you'll have to sort of test the water or guess at which night most people will list as #1, then pick the other and pray you get that, otherwise you're screwed (considering which cities usually get multiple dates).

I guess we'll see how it goes when it's time.

It always seems like a lot of people from all over want to see them in Seattle.

Well then, one of us will have to make that our #1 choice if/when they tour this year :D

It makes me a bit frustrated since I finally have the time and money to see a bunch of shows in row and now the 10c tickets I am used to getting will not be available except for one or two of them, but life goes on.

no
For this test, we created two faux tours to mimic how a Pearl Jam or Eddie Vedder ticket drawing would normally run. Just like a real fan club ticket drawing you will be asked to enter your credit card info in the billing section. Your card will only be authorized $1 for each of the shows you enter; however it will not be charged. The ticket test ends on January 14th at 10am Pacific. After that time your credit card authorization will be canceled and the held funds will be released back.

Sorry if this was covered, but do "Mars Floor" and "Mars Reserved" count as different shows? Seems like that could get hella messy for cities with two shows.

seems like it does, so if you have no interest in somehting other then reserved then you dont rank the other option, but unless they are planing on having different types of tickets available through the fan club then it shouldn't be anything to worry about when real shows are announced

And this is a problem why?

All the reminders from the Ten Club to renew my membership (or else!) and saving my cash when I was a teenager to keep my low number is pretty much useless at this point. Greeeeaaaaat. But at least one fan got to make a set list!
