Funny you should say that. I saw one on MTV about 25 years ago performing a song called "Cherry Bomb." Wonder if it was the same dude.
John Mellencamp has made some records that I really love.
I was just seizing the opportunity to make the joke, really. I don't know that I've ever heard one of Johnny Cougar's albums from start to finish.

Speaking of which, how come Bruce never plays that great "On the Darkside" song he cut back in the 80's?

RS's lists usually suck, but this is at least comprised of legitimately unreleased stuff.

Ha!

With all due respect, I'll give it a miss.
Probably for the best.
People have recommended it to me for a long time, I'm finally downloading Nebraska.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Damn. Nebraska is one of my five favorite records ever.

You should try "Born in the USA," Spenno -- it's a lot different than what you're probably used to from Springsteen, it has a lot of really dark foreboding overtones, ethereal drones, odd time signatures, wailing feedback, etc. Right up your alley, for sure.

This is a trap, isn't it?

"C'mon, dude, I swear, there's ethereal drones all over this thing, just give it a shot. Don't you want to be cool?"

I don't think listening to The Boss is cool. Ever.

Hey you tried. There are a few others that I could post but I think it's not meant to be. But good lad for trying.

Isn't that the song with Tom Berenger on the keys?

This is perfection. I adore this version but I understand that it was too close to The Promised Land so the other version is better for the album. (like Idiot Wind I guess).

Nice recent tracks.

Plus, no Max Weinberg's stupid face to ruin your good cheer!

Probably Bruce's best song ever, I'm thinking.

Hey, does anyone know why Springsteen wasn't involved in the Dylan 30th anniversary concert? I'm looking at you for this, KD.

No idea, LMS. Best guess is that Bob was mad at him for "Lucky Town" and "Human Touch."

Unless Bruce was still pissed about Tweeter and the monkey man. From memory Bruce gave the speech when Bob was inducted in the hall of Fame.

Just got me a ticket for his show in the Hunter Valley next year. Damn me but Jan and Feb may be as bust as March was last year (this year).
