I've read all those stories before, but the whole book seems interesting. I saw Mudhoney/Nirvana on that tour in late 1993. Good show. I'm not a huge Mudhoney fan but they brought it live. Nirvana was amazing with a capital A. Effortless power. Two things stand out. One is that the venue held about 3000 people and was not sold out. I knew people who bought tix at the door the night of the show. Ask about it today and everyone and their mother was at that show. People forget that Nirvana was not nearly as huge as when Cobain was alive and that In Utero was considered a huge disappointment (from a sales perspective) at that time. The other thing I distinctly remember about that show was working my way towards the front, although not super super close or anything. And as I watched Cobain do his thing, I thought to myself, "I'm seeing my generation's John Lennon. This is that guy; he's that talented, that important." A few months later, he was gone. So glad I got to see them live -- the only time I did.

Coolest guy ever.

Steve Turner did an interview here on Irish radio on a show called songs in the key of life. Playing some of his favourite songs and talking about Seattle nirvana and pearl jam. All that. I hate his band with a vengeance but it's a good listen
You can hear it here
