It's almost as if they want to believe that a sequel to Jurassic Park has the potential to be good. Sounds like the problem is their expectations.

My 9 year old wants to see this. Is there any chance it's too bloody/violent for me to take him?

Ther le were at least a dozen kids in my theater under 10. But I guess it depends on your munchkin and what else you allow himto consume. People get chased by dinosaurs, peopleget stalked and eaten by dinosaurs, there are guns and stuff. Really what you would expect.

I would say it's roughly as bloody/violent as The Lost World.

I actually enjoyed that. It's fun. Some stupid shit but the movie didn't take itself too seriously. Christ Pratt was a joy to watch. The effects were actually really
Fantastic and couldn't really sense much cgi. The last battle put a
Big smile on my face. Totally ridiculous but well done.

Just a fun movie.

Some cable channel has been running a marathon of the first 3 JP movies.

I caught the end of the original yesterday and more & more the sequels are irrelevant. The really cool thing about the concept was how they regenerated dinosaurs in the first place. The science/idea behind it. The sequels are just a bunch of T-Rex's eating people. Yawn.

One major problem I have with this, in addition to everything else...

KIDS THINK A STEGOSAURUS IS LIKE AN ELEPHANT NOW SO WE NEED TO MAKE BETTER DINOSAURS

why? Kids fucking love the goddamned zoo. There are thousands of them around the world, and kids still love them. My kids can watch fucking Rio 2 7 times in a day if I let them. They dont get bored with things they like. Hell, the news still reports when our local zoo has baby animals like its a big deal. The need to create a super dinosaur for attendance reasons is beyond ridiculous. People flock to zoos still, and all it takes is a family of baby warthogs named after characters from Game of Thrones.

I talked about this with my wife after the movie, and she said I was insane and just heard what I wanted to hear. But I think it was there.

To be honest, I'm not sure there's a right or a wrong there.

You know what else really bothered me? The odd heel turn of Dr. Henry Wu.

Totally "sequel set-up."
