I never read the Spidey comics but I liked the cartoon on Fox when I was little. In that cartoon Peter didn't seem like as much of a dork and all his girlfriends were hot, speaking from my 90's memories. Why not make it more like that? I hated Toby as Spiderman. Just seemed like too much of a pussy.

I didn't mean for that to come off quite as stupid as it did but do you remember that cartoon? I'm not saying he needs to be some jock, that would just be lame but not as dorky as Toby.

The 90's cartoon is one of the best versions of Spider-Man there is.

I always thought the fanboy obsession with Peter forever being a teenage dork who is perpetually fucking up is kind of a boring version of the character.
