Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

The single is average. I'll give the album a full chance before passing any judgement.
We like to blast solo-CC because of Scream, but he gets absolved of those sins because of everything Soundgarden, Euphoria Morning and about 25% of the Audioslave catalog.

There are some pretty good songs in the first Audioslave album.

Yeah, they're a band that gets trashed a lot around here but there are plenty of top-notch Cornell tracks in there (whether he wrote the lyrics and/or music or whatever). I'll admit that I haven't listened to an Audioslave album in years, but I heard I Am the Highway on the radio a while back and felt like I'm due for a revisit.

The Cornell songs are really good there, specially on the first album.

What is ratio of songs about Josephines to actual Josephines, at this point?

Probably my favorite AS song, along with Shadow On The Sun and Last Remaining Light.

I need to listen to Audioslave's debut in full again. I feel like that might be an unacknowledged classic.

Audioslave was garbage. The music was insipid with tired, recycled riffs by Morello and half-assed lyrics by Cornell. Uninspired.

Rage in general haven't worn well for me; I think my favorite track they ever made was "No Shelter."

Audioslave have some good tracks, primarily the ones that bear the least influence from Morello/Rage. The ballads, basically -- some good singing from Cornell in there.
