Get ready for the best bump ever.

I was out on a run today and "White, Discussion" came up on the ol' shuffle. Because of all the attention to detail brought on by March Madness, I realized this track sounds exactly like something left off of Vs. The production, the guitars, the drumming style, etc. Made me think BOB was involved somehow. But nope it's Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads. Wouldn't have predicted that one.

I saw these guys in college back in late 1999. They put on a pretty good show, played all of their hits very well, ignored my repeated requests for "White, Discussion" and left after like 80 minutes. I met the guitarist after the show and chatted with him for a bit. Nice guy.

I've actually been listening to Throwing Copper quite a bit lately. It's aged badly, and I don't care. I'm not going to pretend like it's a masterpiece or anything but it's an enjoyable listen with a few really great songs (the first eight songs are fantastic, even with some lyrical missteps).

It was! Were you there too? I remember that they dedicated "Shit Towne" to your home town. :D

HOB level clubs, slightly larger theatres will be no problem for them. Considering the other 3 with Chris Shinn couldn't even really get an actual tour off the ground, that's not bad.

What he said. And past that? Cursory listens at best to remind myself that their direction is not the same as my own anymore.

Quality post.

And I've only just realized this is a year-old thread.

I went to a rival high school of these guys in PA and remember seeing them in some crappy clubs. But back then I don't remember them being as good as they eventually became, even though they were definitely the talk of the town.

Was that Live? It was pretty funny.
