^ I don't know, that version he posted from the Australian '98 tour was really really really good. It's equally good, if not better on Yield.

I don't think they're overrated because they're album openers, nobody's overrating Getaway for instance. I think it's just that the band often choose to start a record with something really immediate and strong.chewm wrote:Why are album openers so damn overrated.

Openers are almost never between the best songs of the album. The second song is almost always better, Brain of J is easily the best opener and Faithfull is still a better song.
Life Wasted is actually one of the best openers.
Also, Last Exit is great, just not as good as Cropduster.
